On December 23, an educational training dedicated to information security was held at the premises of the Stari Grad Senior Citizens' Association in Belgrade. The goal of the training was to familiarize association members with the basic principles of personal data protection, safe use of the Internet and digital services, as well as how to recognize the most common threats in the online environment.
During the training, participants had the opportunity to receive practical advice for the safe use of email and social networks, as well as ways to protect themselves from smishing and fraud on the Internet. Special emphasis was placed on raising awareness of the importance of safe use of new technologies among the elderly population.
Attendees were given educational materials with practical instructions and examples to serve, after the training, as a reminder of key tips and help the participants apply them in their everyday use of the Internet. In this way, permanent support is being provided to our senior citizens to use digital tools independently and safely.
The training was implemented by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) in its capacity as the National CERT of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED). This event reminds us that information security is not just a technical issue, but also an important part of the process of digital transformation of society, in which all citizens should have an active and secure place.
