On October 27, 2026, in Belgrade, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), acting as the National CERT of the Republic of Serbia, held a training session for representatives of postal operators. The training focused on cyber threats in postal operations and ways to enhance the protection of information systems.
The training was conducted in accordance with the Action Plan of the Program for the Development of Postal Services in the Republic of Serbia for the 2026–2030 period (“Official Gazette of RS”, No. 16/26). It falls under Measure 1.3.4 – Enhancing Cybersecurity in Postal IT Systems, and specifically relates to Activity 1.3.4.4, which concerns the education of employees and the informing of users regarding cyber threats in postal operations.
In addition to topics covering the identification of cyber threats and the protection of information systems, the training also addressed the regulatory framework in the area of information security. Representatives of postal operators showed particular interest in the criteria used to designate operators of priority and critical ICT systems of special importance, as well as the obligations arising from such status.
This training is part of the National CERT’s activities during October – Information Security Month, a period dedicated to educating various target groups and improving the knowledge necessary for the safe use of information and communication technologies.
Cooperation with postal operators is important for the timely identification of risks and the enhancement of information system protection within this sector. The National CERT of Serbia will continue, within the scope of its mandate, to support the strengthening of information security and the exchange of knowledge with relevant institutions and operators.
