The third workshop within the project "Empowering local governments in information security regulation implementation" organized by RATEL, NALED, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and the Office for Information Technologies and eGovernment was held in Novi Sad on November 27th.
Representatives of 22 local governments of AP Vojvodina were acquainted with the requirements defined by the information security regulations, in addition to the Model of Act on security, prepared during 2017 by the National CERT as a means of support to the operators of ICT systems of special importance.
The significance of application and monitoring of security measures in accordance with the Law on Information Security was specially highlighted. The CERT Head of the Ministry of Interior, Nebojša Jokić, talked about current local and global cyber security challenges, and presented the activities of the Center for response to cyber attacks, which he is leading. He also mentioned numerous examples of good practice and stressed the importance of broader awareness in the area of cyber security.
